Happy Nag Panchami 2012


Celebrated/observed in many different ways in South Asia, and now (?) in the USA, this cultural day is observed to ward off the wrath of snakes or to appease them. Happy Nag Panchami ! We are approaching towards our part of calendar where there are much more festivals to come.

Every day I feel like we can make a difference !

Today I ran across an initiative that came to fruition in Fort Worth TX. Passionate folks there were able to establish a place of worship.

Padma Kuppa, a Hindu woman from Troy, Michigan, was born in India. Her family moved to the United States where they remained until the 80’s when her family moved back to India. It wasn’t easy adjusting to being uprooted and moving back to mainstream Indian culture, since she was a teenager when her family moved.
